Shea Moisture Vs. The cheaper option Better or not worth it?

  As a member of the natural hair community we do not use shampoo as much as we use conditioner but when we do use it we want it to clean the hair while also leaving it moisturized. Now not everyones hair likes the same things which is a key factor noted while composing the experiment that followed in response to the title question above. In some ways all hair can react to the ingredients weather it be similar or different good or bad. Shea moistures top ingredients each provide certain benefits for hair

Chemical Research

                                                                                            Decyl Glucoside - this is what makes the foam appear when washing your hair. Helps with cleansing hair gently. There are no personal safety issues. Environmental issues just recommend use restrictions.

Panthenol- a form of alcohol that is used to moisturize hair and can be found in many hair products mostly shampoos.

Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) butter - comes from a tree It is commonly used in hair and skin care products due to its properties as an excellent skin conditioner. It is believed to promote hair growth.

Procedure

1. Section of clean hair into 4 equal sections
2. Spray hair with a spray bottle full of water till hair is sufficiently wet
3. Apply ¼  cup of Luster’s pink shea butter and coconut oil leave-in conditioner to each of the four sections
4. Next put eco styler gel the argon formula on the top and front sections of my hair and pull it into a ponytail for the day
5. Once home at 9pm i would get in the shower and wash my hair with one of the shampoos in two sections
6. Next rinse out the shampoo and then repeat again
7. After washing add the same products with the same amount as last time and repeat using a different shampoo.

Moisture levels	On a scale from 1-10  the shampoo left my hair feeling not very moisturized on the scale I would give it a 3	On a scale from 1-10 this shampoo left my hair feeling significantly more moisturized than its	This is without any added products right after rinsing.
Ability to help detangle the hair	The hair was easy to detangle at the root but tangles at the lower hair flowing down to the ends.	It did not take much work to detangle my hair with this shampoo there was some struggle but significantly easier to manage.
Cleanliness of the hair	On a scale 1-10 my hair was a 7 not completely clean there was still some gel residue left	On a scale to 1-10 my hair was a 9 it cleaned it well without stripping all the natural oils from my hair.	I did wash my hair twice with each use of the products….

Proposed Improvement

For shea moisture to better their product i think they should do more test on people with all hair types backgrounds textures and other small differences to better make a product that will work for everyone not just a small group of people.
