For years now me and my cousin Marquise have been using the same kind of deodorant brand, which is Degree. Degree works well on us both because we're both athletic people. We go to the gym and get workouts in, by doing various workouts like the bench press, running on the treadmill, using the elliptical machine, riding the bike, using the crunch machine, etc. So what we decided to do was put the Degree deodorant, up against the Dove Men + Care, since they both make the claim of having 48 hour protection.
We conducted the experiment of seeing which deodorant works best on an intense workout at the gym. What we did was put one of each of the deodorants on our underarms, using the Degree on the left underarm putting a significant amount on, and then the Dove deodorant on the right underarm doing the same thing(we each had our own deodorants, we didn't use the same one).

First we both started on the treadmill, running for about 15 minutes, with the treadmill on a good speed, which was 5 mph nothing too fast, but not too slow. Next, we did the bench press because we wanted to build up some upper body strength, by bench pressing. We both did 6 reps of 145 lbs, which only took 2 minutes approximately.
In the Degree Men's Deodorant: Cool Rush, the three main chemicals that we found interesting were Fragrance(C16H26O). Which is responsible for giving off good scent. Next it is, Hydrogenated Castor Oil(C57H104O9). Its use is for concentrations. Last but not least, Talc(Mg3Si4O10) was very interesting. The use for Talc is to eliminate the fluid. In fragrance there is no personal issues, but there is an environmental safety issue. The issue is that, it causes pollution. In Hydrogenated Castor Oil and Talc on the other hand, there is no personal safety issues or environmental issues. it's just fine.
After both of us doing our workout, we have came to the conclusion that the Degree Cool Rush deodorant, works way better than the Dove Men + Care. The Degree keeps your underarms completely dry, even after a very intense workout like the one that we experienced. Plus, it actually keeps you smelling fresh, they really support the claims that are on the package. Dove on the other hand, it doesn't really work like it should. After the workout, both me and my cousin Marquise noticed that our armpit that we tested with Dove, was wet. Which was strange since it claims to have 48 hour protection, but only after about 1 hour & 30 minutes , the fragrance of the deodorant went away and our underarms were wet. Also with me specifically(Terrel), that Dove deodorant was very harmful to my skin. After about the second day of using just the dove deodorant i noticed that the skin on my underarm started to peel, and I had to stop using it for precautionary measures. After I saw that it started peeling, I went back to my normal deodorant, which was the Degree Cool Rush.
While both deodorants work well, Degree just works better for the both of us. In our opinion, dove is great, but it's just not for us. Dove could better with their deodorants maybe if they got rid of some ingredients. For instance, dove has aluminum in their ingredients. Studies have shown that having aluminum in your deodorant can cause forms of cancer, so it would be best to search for a deodorant that lacks aluminum. I think that that's the reason for my underarms starting to peel. So to the creators of Dove Deodorant, if you guys are reading this, PLEASE REMOVE THE ALUMINUM from your products, it doesn't work well on people, especially on someone like me (Terrel), someone who has sensitive skin.
