Does Aveeno actually moisturize your skin for up to 24 hours?

Sodium chloride is one of the many ingredients found in Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt Lotion Apricot & Honey. Sodium chloride (NaCl) also known as salt, is an essential compound our body uses to:
  • absorb and transport nutrients
  • maintain blood pressure
  • maintain the right balance of fluid
  • transmit nerve signals
  • contract and relax muscles

Sodium chloride is found as an ingredient in hygiene products because of its ability to polish teeth, reduce oral odor, shampoos, fragrance, skin, hair, nail, cleansing, suntan, makeup and bath products.

Isopropyl Paltmitate is also one of the many ingredients found in Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt Lotion Apricot & Honey. Isopropyl Paltmitate (C19H38O2is a colorless and almost odorless liquid substance made from palm oil and/or animal fats.

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) is found in Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt Lotion Apricot & Honey. It is a white unreactive solid which occurs naturally as the mineral rutile and is used extensively as a white pigment. It protects skin from UVA and UVB radiation and is considered no risk of skin sensitivity.
Personal and Environmental Safety

Sodium Chloride could cause nausea and vomiting, and/or swelling your hands, ankles, and feet. Isopropyl Palmitate has been known to cause acne, blackheads, whiteheads and clogged pores if overused. Depending on how much of the ingredient is in the product, the skin may experience some irritation. Lastly, given the size of titanium dioxide particles as well as the electrical charge, exposure to the mineral has been linked to oxidative stress (A disturbance in the balance between the production of reactive oxygen species and antioxidant defenses) and chronic inflammation. An increase in oxidative stress in the body stimulates cellular and DNA damage.
