Which conditioner makes your hair more softer?
For years I have been using Brazilian Keratin Conditioner for my bundles. I never really thought about the science of the product or why is it used all over the world. Keratin Brazilian condition is used to smooth and fortify your hair for a glossy, healthy-looking glow. I conducted an experiment to determine which conditioner brand makes your hair the softest.
Chemistry Research
To start, lets take a look at some of the chemicals that are found inside Brazilian Keratin Conditioner. The most common ingredients inside the conditioner is Cetearyl Alcohol. Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol, is known to soften your skin and hair. It is used as a emollient, texture enhance, and foam stabilizer. This fatty alcohol can be beneficial for dry skin. Emollients are substances that soften and moisturizes the skin to decrease flaking and itching. It may irritate people with sensitive skin, it can destroy your skin surfaces and the substances that keep your skin healthy over a long period of time.
Now let’s take a look at another ingredient inside the conditioner, which is Cetyl Alcohol. It is used as a moisturizer to treat or prevent rough, dry and itchy skin. The word “Cetyl” is a reference from whale oil. It is a major component of the hair conditioner because it helps the oil and water mix together. Without the presence of the alcohol, the water based and oil-based components in a conditioner would remain as emulsions. Cetyl Alcohol gives conditioners a creamy appearance. Cetyl Alcohol can cause breakouts and dryness irritation to your skin.
Last but not least, let’s take a look at Hydrolyzed Keratin which is found in Brazilian Keratin Conditioner. It is a protein that helps moisturize your hair to help reduce breakage and brings luster to your curls and waves. The small protein pieces can penetrate the hair shaft, replace the lost protein, and strengthen the hair. Hydrolyzed protein helps improve moisture retention while giving hair shine, silky bounce.

Experiment Procedure
I did an experiment to determine which conditioner makes my weave the softest. I compared it to Theorie Helichrysum Nourishing Conditioner.
•Wash hair until completely wet
• Wring our hair before applying conditioner
• Apply conditioner on to hair until fully even and every strand of hair has been treated
• Allow the conditioner to absorb for approximately 2-3 minutes
• Rinse until your hair feels completely clean and no slippery texture in hair
Results
By looking at the textures of hair it was clear that Brazilian Keratin Therepy made my hair the softest.
The fact that one of the Brazilian Keratin Therapy main ingredient is the Cetearyl Alcohol which soften your hair. Theorie Helichrysum Nourshing Conditioner also has Cetearyl Alcohol but it does not have the good amount of it.
In conclusion, I am greatly happy with my results of my experiment, Brazilian Keratin Therapy worked better than Theorie Helichrysum when it comes to making your softer. My chemistry research were not satisfying because I could not find a lot of information on each of my ingredients.
